Steps For Replacing The Headlight

Replacing a headlight on your Subaru Impreza is not difficult. The key thing is to park your vehicle in a safe place where you can work on it.

  1. Open the hood and disconnect the battery.
  2. If the air cleaner intake is on top of the headlight, remove it by undoing the screws holding it in place.
  3. Unscrew the headlight assembly by removing the two screws on top.
  4. Carefully slide the headlight assembly out, be careful not to pull on any of the headlight wires.
  5. Remove the headlight wires by disconnecting the plastic connector and pulling the bulbs out of their socket.
  6. Attach the wires to the new bulbs. Then slide the bulbs into their slots in the headlight assembly.
  7. Install the headlight assembly in its original position and secure it with the screws. Then reinstall the air cleaner.
  8. Reconnect the battery.
