  • Prying tool
  • Set of hog rings (or cable ties)
  • Small pliers (hog ring pliers are best for this application)

  1. Remove retaining screws at the end of the seat rail – these are under a plastic cover and can be accessed from the rear passenger footwell
  2. Lift up the seat to expose the wiring under the seat base – there are four plugs to unclip before you can remove the seat from the car (Two yellow, one black, and one white clip)
  3. Once the seat is out, the electrical seatbelt harness will need to be unclipped
  4. The seat fabric is clipped to the underside of the seat in multiple spots – make sure to unclip everything before moving to the next step
  5. The plastic panel along the seat base closest to the door will need to be removed using a screwdriver
  6. Once this is done, the seat fabric and foam can be removed from the seat base
  7. The fabric can be separated from the foam by cutting the attached hog nose clips
  8. Fit the new seat fabric to the foam and attach it securely with the new hog rings – The video shows that cable ties can also be used
  9. Refit the seat following steps 1-5 in reverse order

OEM Subaru Seat Covers Are Your Best Choice
